Vicki Windman, a special education teacher at Clarkstown High School South, made a list of iPhone and iPad Apps she considers useful in the writing process. According to her "writing is a skill that many students struggle with, from grammar, idiom and spelling to punctuation and footnotes". Build A Word Easy Spelling is one of the apps she mentioned:
Build a Word Easy Spelling $2.99 contains more than 600 words with the option to create one's own list. Includes audio and visual prompts and three levels- short vowels, long vowels, and sight words. Especially good for special-needs students who need a blank background to reduce distraction, large letter cards, and the option not to time or keep score to reduce pressure.
